Lancaster City is the home of the Fulton Opera House, the oldest theater in continuous use in the United States. The Opera House is located in the center of historic Downtown Lancaster, across from the Central Market. The Fulton presents a full season of musicals, plays and concerts. They also invite talented high school students to participate in their summer program.

Lancaster has a bustling community of artists and musicians. First Fridays bring the city together to enjoy art and socializing.

Located in downtown Lancaster, Central Market is the longest running farmer's market in the country. The historic building not only provides a beautiful setting but also allows for the Market to offer a year-round shopping experience.

Lancaster also has a wide variety of outlet shops, conveniently located along Route 30.
